Benifits of Eye Surgery
Welcome back!
Vision impairment is indeed a very big issue for some people as it effect their whole life when it comes to how they can live it. And it is not only the fact that they cant use their vision and eyes properly, it’s the fact that many people se the use of glasses and contacts as an hassle they rather escape. Fortunately there is help.
Laser assisted eye surgery has in the last years made a hugh leap in development and prices meaning that is now a very safe procedure and the price is nowhere near what it used to be. Today you can get the most common laser assisted surgery types for about 1200-1500 USD depending on where you live and your level of defect of vision.
Main reason for people having bad vision is that the light rays from our surroundings that hit our eyes (the cornea) may be poorly reflected into the eye thus producing a defect image on the retina and image nerve. This type of defect are common if you are near-sighted, far-sighted and/or have astigmatism.
Sow how does laser eye surgery work?
As a first step the doctor will analyze and measure your vision defect as a measure to know which how how the surgery will go forth. Next, he will, depending on your defect and other external and internal conditions choose which kind of surgery method he will choose. Today, the most common vision corrective surgery methods are LASIK and LASEK.
What these to technologies have in common is that they, with different methods first remove the outer part of the cornea. Either by using a tool to cut a small “flap” that can be folded away and then put back, or by using a fluid that softens and loosens the cornea, thus being able to remove it. Then with the middle part of the cornea exposed a, a laser is used to vaporize just enough material in the eye so that any defects become corrected and you get your vision back.
Depending on which method used the patient and the eye is then fitted with a soft contact lens that works like a bandage and/or protective film. Normally healing is fast and usually take about 3 to 4 days.
Laser eye surgery can work miracles for anyone that feel that their eyes are worth more than just glasses and contacts. Adding to the fact that the prices today is probably considerable less then what you spend on glasses and contacts over a lifetime and you will be able to live a more active lifestyle there is no reason not to consider it.
